The Mask is a 1995 action platformer developed by Black Pearl Software for the SNES, based on the hit film. You play as Stanley Ipkiss, navigating sprawling, maze-like levels using a variety of cartoonish powers fueled by your Morph meter.
How to play
Your objective is to find the exit of each level while managing your Morph meter. This meter powers your special abilitiesโlike the mallet or gunsโand slowly recharges on its own, or faster by collecting “M” icons. Use the arrow keys to move, crouch, and look around. Press X (SNES B) to jump and S (SNES Y) to attack. You can cycle through your available special moves using Q and E (SNES L and R), and unleash them with Z or A (SNES A and X). Press Enter to pause.
Tips
- The tornado spin makes you temporarily invincible and deals high damage, but rapidly drains your Morph meter. Save it for crowded areas or tough enemies.
- Levels are non-linear and often maze-like. If you reach a dead end, look for vents or alternative paths that require crouching or jumping to access.
