Game description:

Tetris for the NES brings the timeless, line-clearing puzzle phenomenon to the 8-bit era. As tetrominoes of different shapes fall from the top of the screen, you must rotate and position them to create solid horizontal lines. Each completed line disappears, giving you more room to survive as the speed constantly increases. It remains one of the most defining and replayable puzzle games ever made.

How to Play

The objective is to clear lines and rack up the highest score possible before the blocks reach the top of the screen. Use the D-pad to move pieces left or right, and the A or B buttons to rotate them. In the browser emulator, this maps to the arrow keys for movement, Z and X for rotation, and Enter for Start.

Tips

  • Build a well: Leave a single column open (usually on the far right) and stack your pieces neatly. Wait for a long straight piece to clear four lines at once for a Tetris.
  • Watch the next box: Always keep an eye on the “Next” piece preview so you can plan where your current piece should go without hesitation.
