Tetris 2 for the Super Nintendo takes the classic falling-block formula and shifts the focus from clearing lines to matching colors. This sequel introduces irregularly shaped blocks and challenges you to connect three or more pieces of the same color horizontally or vertically to clear them from the board. The goal of each stage is to eliminate the pre-placed Flash blocks—clearing one will instantly remove all other blocks of that same color, allowing for massive chain reactions.

How to Play

Use the Arrow keys to move your falling pieces left, right, or down. Press Z or X to rotate the blocks to align their colors. The objective of each level is to clear all the flashing target blocks. Press Enter to pause the game.

Tips

• Focus on clearing the Flash blocks first; doing so removes all normal blocks of that color from the screen, which can quickly turn a cluttered board into a manageable one.
• Plan your drops to cause chain reactions. When a color match is cleared, unsupported blocks will fall, potentially creating new matches and scoring big combos.
• Unlike the original game, pieces that land on uneven surfaces will break apart, allowing single blocks to fall further down and potentially set up unexpected matches.
