Game description:

Teitoku no Ketsudan (known internationally as P.T.O.: Pacific Theater of Operations) is a grand strategy naval warfare game developed by Koei and released for the SNES in 1992. As a deeply complex World War II simulator, it places you in command of either the Allied or Japanese naval forces. The gameplay focuses heavily on resource management, budgeting, and strategic fleet deployment, offering an incredible level of depth for a 16-bit console title. You must manage everything from fuel production and raw materials to the movement of individual ships and aircraft squadrons across the Pacific.

How to Play

Your objective is to achieve victory in the Pacific by systematically capturing enemy ports and destroying their fleets. Navigate the complex menus to direct your forces, allocate resources, and engage in turn-based tactical combat. The default SNES emulator controls use the Arrow Keys for the D-pad to move through menus. Use the X and Z keys (mapped to the A and B buttons) to select and cancel actions, while Enter and Shift serve as Start and Select.

Tips

Focus heavily on securing supply lines and capturing key industrial bases early, as a strong economic foundation is required to replace lost vessels. Always prioritize the protection of your aircraft carriers during tactical engagements, as their long-range strike capabilities are the most decisive factor in major fleet battles. Additionally, pay close attention to your fuel reserves before deploying large task forces.
