Game description:

Tecmo Cup – Soccer Game is an innovative cinematic sports RPG released for the NES in 1992. Rather than playing as a traditional arcade soccer title, it combines sports strategy with turn-based role-playing mechanics. You guide Robin and his team through various tournaments, making tactical decisions in real-time as encounters occur on the pitch.

The game is entirely menu-driven. When the player with the ball encounters an opponent, the action pauses, and you must choose to pass, shoot, dribble, or tackle based on the situation. The standard NES controls apply in the browser: use the arrow keys to navigate the field and menus, Z (A button) to confirm actions, X (B button) to cancel or pull up the menu, and Enter (Start) to pause.

Tips: Conserve your team's “Guts” (stamina) points, as special moves and standard actions deplete them over the course of a match. Passing drains far fewer Guts than dribbling past opponents, so work together to move the ball up the field before setting up a shot on goal.
