Taiketsu!! Brass Numbers is a 2D fighting game developed by Laser Soft (a subsidiary of Telenet Japan) and released for the Super Famicom in 1992. Known internationally as Doomsday Warrior, the game was part of the early 90s fighting game boom. You play as a rebellious member of the “Doom Squad” who turns against their leader, a diabolical sorcerer known as Main, to fight for the people of Earth.
How to Play
Defeat your opponents in one-on-one combat to progress through the ranks of the Doom Squad. As a Super Nintendo emulator title, the default controls map the SNES D-pad to your keyboard’s arrow keys for movement and jumping. Attack and block using the action buttons, mapped to Z, X, A, and S, with Enter for Start and Shift for Select.
Tips
- Upgrade your stats: Unlike many fighting games of the era, you earn Ability Points after winning battles. Invest these carefully to improve your character’s Arm Power, Leg Power, Defense, Vitality, or Soul Power.
- Exploit the RPG mechanics: Because of the stat progression system, finding a set of moves you can reliably land early on will help you snowball your power for the much harder later fights.
