Super Smash T.V. is a top-down run-and-gun arcade shooter ported to the Sega Master System in 1992 by Probe Software. Based on the classic Williams arcade hit, the game throws you into a violent, futuristic game show where you must survive wave after wave of relentless enemies to win cash and prizes. You battle from room to room through the arena, picking up temporary weapon upgrades like scatter guns and rocket launchers to defeat huge hordes and powerful bosses.
How to Play
Survive each room by defeating every enemy that spawns, then collect your prizes and move to the next area. Because the Sega Master System lacks the arcade’s twin-stick layout, the controls are adapted for the standard controller. Use the D-pad to move, and the action buttons to shoot. By default, you shoot in the direction you are facing or in the opposite direction. Be sure to check the Option screen to change your firing setup if you prefer a locked firing angle. In the browser, the D-pad is mapped to the arrow keys, with Z and X acting as the main buttons.
Tips
- Grab weapon power-ups whenever they appear, as your default weapon is weak and can quickly leave you overwhelmed by enemy numbers.
- Keep moving! Standing still makes you an easy target for enemies swarming from the doors.
- Prioritize survival over picking up items. Don’t get greedy for cash and prizes if you are surrounded.
