Super Sidekicks (also known as Tokuten Ou) is a fast-paced arcade soccer game released by SNK in 1992. As the first soccer game for the Neo Geo arcade hardware, it skips realistic simulation in favor of high-energy, action-heavy gameplay. Players choose from 12 international teams to compete in the SNK Cup, battling through a series of intense matches to claim the championship.
How to Play
The objective is to outscore your opponent before the timer runs out. Use the joystick (mapped to arrow keys) to move your active player. The main arcade buttons (Z, X, and C in the browser) are used for passing, shooting, and long passes on offense. On defense, these same buttons perform sliding tackles and rough shoulder charges. Insert virtual coins (Shift) and press Start (Enter) to begin your match.
Tips
- Play aggressively on defense: The referee is incredibly lenient. Use sliding tackles and shoulder charges constantly to regain possession, as fouls are rarely called.
- Master the long pass: Use lofted passes to quickly clear the ball from your defensive half and set up rapid counter-attacks.
- Take long shots: Goalkeepers can sometimes be beaten from well outside the penalty box, so take powerful shots if you have a clear opening.
