Super Jangou is a riichi mahjong game developed by Orpheck and published by Victor Interactive Software for the Super Famicom, released in Japan on March 17, 1995. Like most Japanese mahjong software of its era, it pits you against computer-controlled opponents in standard four-player riichi mahjong, and the cartridge’s battery backup lets you save your progress between sessions.
How to Play
The goal is to complete a winning hand of 14 tiles before your opponents do, drawing and discarding each turn while watching for calls like Pon, Chi, and Kan, and declaring Riichi when you’re one tile from a win. In your browser, use the arrow keys to move the cursor and select tiles or menu options, Z (A button) to confirm, X (B button) to cancel or back out of a menu, and Enter (Start) to begin.
