Game description:

Super Bomberman 2 is a classic grid-based action game developed by Hudson Soft and released for the Super Famicom (SNES) in 1994. As the second entry in the 16-bit series, it pits Bomberman against the Five Dastardly Bombersโ€”alien cyborgs who have captured him to conquer the universe. It features a robust single-player campaign full of gimmick-filled stages alongside the famously chaotic multiplayer battle mode.

How to Play

Your goal is to clear out enemies and obstacles using well-timed explosions to find the exit or defeat the stage boss. Movement is handled with the arrow keys (mapping to the SNES D-pad). Press X to drop a bomb and Z to use special item abilities like detonators, while Enter functions as the Start button to pause. Avoid the blast radius of your own explosions as you collect power-ups that increase your blast range, speed, and bomb capacity.

Tips

  • Kick and Punch: If you acquire the Kick or Punch power-ups, you can launch bombs across the screen to surprise enemies or escape a trap.
  • Pass the Skull: In multiplayer, grabbing a skull item causes unpredictable ailments like reversed movement or uncontrollable bomb dropping. Touching another player will pass the illness to them.
  • Chain Explosions: Line up your bombs carefully; explosions will detonate other bombs they touch, allowing you to trap fast-moving opponents in a crossfire.
