Game description:

Super B.C. Kid (known as Super Bonk in North America) brings Hudson Soft’s hard-headed caveman to the SNES for the first time. Released in 1994, this quirky platformer lets you headbutt enemies, collect meat to trigger bizarre transformations, and navigate wildly imaginative prehistoric stages that range from the insides of giant dinosaurs to outer space.

How to Play

Bonk’s signature attack is his headbutt, which can be used on the ground to strike enemies or mid-air to dive-bomb them from above. In this browser version, the original SNES controls are mapped to your keyboard: use the Arrow Keys to move, X (SNES B button) to jump, and Z (SNES Y button) to attack. Enter acts as Start. Eating meat throughout the levels will change Bonk’s size and grant unique abilities, like breathing fire or freezing enemies.

Tips

  • While in the air, repeatedly pressing the attack button makes Bonk spin. This slows his descent, helping you safely cross wide gaps and land precisely on enemies.
  • Look for colored candies scattered around; some will shrink Bonk down to a miniature size, letting you slip into small gaps and hidden pipes to find secret areas.
  • Headbutt walls, the ground, and odd-looking structures. Many power-ups, extra lives, and bonus stages are hidden inside destructible parts of the environment.
