Sukeban Deka III is an action game released for the Famicom (NES) in Japan on January 22, 1988, developed by Shouei System and published by Toei Animation. It adapts the third season of the live-action Sukeban Deka television series, casting the player as one of the three Kazama sisters — Yui, Yuka, and Yuma — as they investigate a case using their own signature weapons.
How to Play
You can switch between the three Kazama sisters at will, and each fights differently: Yui wields a metal yo-yo, while Yuka and Yuma fight with metal origami cranes and lily yarn needles. Stages open with overhead, free-roaming exploration before shifting into side-scrolling combat, and the game layers in light RPG-style elements as you piece together the case alongside the fighting.
Controls follow the standard Famicom/NES layout: arrow keys to move, Z and X for the two action buttons, and Enter/Shift for Start/Select.
Tips
- Try switching sisters if you’re stuck — their different weapons handle different enemies and obstacles better.
- Objectives aren’t always spelled out. If you’re unsure what to do next, explore the overhead sections fully before pushing into the side-scrolling stages.
