Game description:

Relive the events of Episode IV: A New Hope in Star Wars, a challenging 1991 action-platformer for the NES. Developed by Beam Software and published by JVC, this classic adaptation puts you in the shoes of Luke Skywalker as you navigate the deserts of Tatooine, survive the cell blocks of the Death Star, and pilot your X-Wing in the iconic trench run. The game faithfully blends side-scrolling exploration, tight blaster combat, and memorable first-person space flight sections.

Your objective is to survive each level's varied hazardsโ€”from Tusken Raiders to Imperial Stormtroopersโ€”and complete the film's story. In the browser, standard NES controls apply: use the Arrow Keys to move and aim, Z and X for your A and B buttons (jumping and attacking), and Enter or Shift for Start and Select.

Tips: Take the time to explore the caves and side areas on Tatooine; you can find extra lives and shield upgrades that are practically essential for surviving the grueling Death Star stages. When flying the Millennium Falcon, prioritize avoiding damage over shooting every target so your shields remain intact for dogfights.
