Game description:

Stadium Events is a classic track and field sports game released for the NES in 1987. Originally designed to be played with the Family Fun Fitness mat (later known in North America as the Power Pad), this European version features four Olympic-style events: the 100m dash, 110m hurdles, long jump, and triple jump. Players compete to set world records in a tournament of speed and precise timing.

How to Play

Your goal is to qualify for and win each event by meeting the minimum time or distance requirements. Without a physical floor mat, use the standard browser-mapped NES controls to simulate running and jumping: use the Arrow keys for the D-pad, Z and X for the A and B buttons, and Enter for Start. Typically, you must rapidly alternate the action buttons to build speed and time your jumps over hurdles or at the foul line.

Tips

  • Hurdle Timing: Mashing the run buttons as fast as possible is important, but be prepared to break your rhythm to time your jumps perfectly over the hurdles without tripping.
  • Maximum Distance: In the long jump and triple jump, your approach speed is critical, but releasing your jump at the absolute edge of the foul line is what guarantees a world record.
