Sqoon is a side-scrolling shoot ’em up released for the NES in 1986 by Irem. The Earth has been flooded, and you must pilot the pink submarine Sqoon to fight off the invading Neptunian alien forces and rescue human survivors from the depths of the ocean.
How to play
Your objective is to navigate underwater stages, shooting aquatic enemies and saving humans. Use the D-pad (mapped to arrow keys) to steer your submarine, the A button (Z key) to shoot torpedoes forward, and the B button (X key) to launch ice bombs that arc downward to destroy sea-floor bases and clear paths. Press Start (Enter key) to pause. When your submarine is full of survivors, resurface and dock at a mobile island to refuel and score points.
Tips
- Keep a close eye on your fuel gauge; taking damage drains fuel.
- Prioritize saving humans and dropping them off at the island, as this is the only way to replenish your fuel supply.
