Take the wheel of an armed interceptor in Spy Hunter, Bally Midway’s 1983 arcade hit ported here to the Atari 2600. Blending high-speed driving with top-down shooting, your goal is to speed down an endless highway and eliminate enemy agents while keeping civilian traffic out of the crossfire.

How to play

Your primary objective is to survive and rack up points by destroying enemy vehicles like the tire-slashing Switchblades and armored Enforcers. As you drive, watch for the red weapons van to upgrade your arsenal.

Tips

Docking with the van: When the red weapons van appears, carefully align your car behind it and drive up the ramp to equip oil slicks, smoke screens, or missiles.
Protect civilians: Avoid shooting or ramming the blue civilian cars. Destroying them halts your score counter for several seconds, costing you valuable points.
Deal with Switchblades: The enemy cars with tire slashers will try to pull up alongside you. Either ram them off the road before they align with your wheels, or drop back and shoot them.
