Game description:

Soukoban Densetsu – Hikari to Yami no Kuni is a puzzle game released for the Game Boy Color in 1999. Published by J-Wing, this Japan-exclusive title brings classic warehouse-keeper mechanics to the handheld console, challenging players to solve intricate block-pushing puzzles across a variety of mazes.

How to Play

The core objective is to push every crate onto its designated target square to clear the stage. You can only push one crate at a time, and you cannot pull them, so careful planning is required to avoid getting stuck. Use the D-pad (arrow keys) to move your character, and the A and B buttons (Z and X keys) to interact with menus. Press Start (Enter) to pause or reset the level.

Tips

  • Work backwards from the target locations in your mind to plan the correct sequence of pushes.
  • Keep crates away from walls and corners unless the target square is located there, as a crate pushed into a corner is permanently stuck.
