Game description:

Sougou Kakutougi Rings: Astral Bout 3 is a mixed martial arts and professional wrestling game released for the Super Famicom (SNES) in 1995. Based on the real-world Japanese fighting promotion RINGS, the game distinguishes itself from traditional arcade fighters by focusing on technical submission grappling, stamina management, and realistic striking. Players choose from a roster of international martial artists, each representing different fighting disciplines, to compete in authentic RINGS-rules bouts.

How to Play

The objective is to deplete your opponent’s stamina and secure a victory via knockout or submission. As an SNES title, it uses the D-pad for ring movement and the A, B, X, Y, L, and R buttons for a variety of strikes, takedowns, and grapple attempts. In your browser, these standard Super Nintendo controls are mapped to the arrow keys for movement, with Z, X, A, S, Q, W, Enter, and Shift serving as the action and menu buttons.

Tips

  • Manage your stamina: Throwing constant strikes will tire your fighter out quickly, making you vulnerable to takedowns and submissions. Fight methodically.
  • Learn your fighter’s style: Grapplers and strikers play very differently. If you are using a submission specialist, close the distance to initiate grappling sequences rather than trading punches.
