Game description:

Snow Bros: Nick & Tom is a 1990 arcade platformer developed and published by Toaplan, shown here in its original Japanese release. Playing solo or with a second player, you control the snowman twins Nick and Tom as they fight through 50 single-screen stages to rescue two kidnapped princesses, burying every monster on screen in snow before moving on.

How to Play

Clear each stage by covering every enemy in a snowball, then kick the finished snowball into anything else still moving — a well-aimed kick can flatten several enemies in one chain. Take too long on a stage and an invincible pumpkin head shows up; it can be stunned with snowballs but will otherwise spawn ghosts that hunt you down. A boss fight caps every tenth stage, and stages occasionally drop potions that boost your speed, throwing range, or snowball size.

  • Arrow keys – move
  • Up – jump
  • Z – throw a snowball / kick a finished one
  • Shift – insert coin, Enter – start

Tips

  • Herd two or three enemies together before kicking a snowball through the group instead of clearing them one at a time.
  • If the pumpkin head shows up, bury it in snowballs to stun it rather than trying to outrun its ghosts.
  • Grab potions as soon as they drop — a bigger snowball radius makes the later, more crowded stages much easier.
