Game description:

Snoopy Tennis brings Charlie Brown and the rest of the Peanuts gang to the court for a fast, arcade-style tennis match. Developed by Mermaid Studios and published by Infogrames for the Game Boy Color, this Japanese release launched in 2001 as the first Peanuts video game to arrive after Charles M. Schulz’s death. Rather than a straight tennis sim, it leans into cartoon chaos, with power-ups and oddball rules mixed in alongside the traditional game.

How to play

Pick from eight starting characters, including Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Franklin, Sally, Peppermint Patty, and Schroeder, with four more (Pigpen, Marcie, Rerun, and Woodstock) to unlock as you play through the game’s courts, among them a forest clearing, the beach, the schoolyard, and Charlie Brown’s own backyard. Beyond standard sets, the game offers Power-Up Mode, Points Race, Sudden Win, and even a Squash variant, plus two-player matches over a Game Link cable.

In the browser, the Game Boy Color’s D-pad maps to the arrow keys, the A and B buttons map to Z and X, and Start and Select map to Enter and Shift.
