🎮 Play SimAnt: The Electronic Ant Colony Online (SNES)

SimAnt: The Electronic Ant Colony is a simulation and strategy game released for the SNES in 1991 by Maxis Software. Players take control of a black ant colony situated in the backyard of a suburban home, expanding their territory while battling rival red ants and fending off environmental hazards like spiders and antlions.

How to play

Your objective is to lead your colony to dominance by expanding across the yard and eventually driving the humans out of their house. You can gather food, dig tunnel systems, attack the rival red ants, and switch control to any individual ant in your army to turn the tide. Control the game using the D-pad (↑↓←→) for movement, A (Z) and B (X) for actions and cancelling, X (A) and Y (S) for secondary functions, L (Q) and R (E) for switching views, SELECT (Shift), and START (Enter).

Tips

• Focus early on gathering food to boost your worker population, which will sustain the colony’s rapid growth.
• Spiders are dangerous to individual ants, but a large swarm of soldiers can overwhelm one to harvest a massive amount of food.
• When expanding into a new patch of the yard, secure food sources quickly to starve out competing red ant colonies.
