Shaq Fu is a 1994 2D fighting game developed by Delphine Software for the Super Nintendo (SNES). You play as basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal, who stumbles into an alternate dimension and must fight through a roster of mystical opponents to stop a powerful, banished mummy from taking over the world.
How to Play
The objective is to deplete your opponent’s health bar in best-of-three rounds. Using the standard SNES control scheme, use the D-pad to move, jump, and block (by holding away from the opponent). The face buttons control your light and heavy punches and kicks. In the browser, movement maps to the arrow keys, with attacks on Z, X, A, and S, and Start on Enter.
Tips
- Shaq has a significant reach advantage; use his long kicks to keep aggressive fighters at a safe distance.
- Special moves are executed with traditional fighting game directional inputs, but they leave you vulnerable if blocked or missed.
- Blocking is essential. Faster characters like Kaori will quickly overwhelm you if you forget to play defensively.
