Play the unreleased prototype build of Shanghai for the NES. This early version offers a look at the classic Mahjong solitaire tile-matching game before its final commercial release.
How to Play
The objective is to clear the board by matching pairs of free tiles. A tile is free if it has no tile on top of it and is open on its left or right side. The default controls for the NES in your browser are the Arrow keys to move the cursor, Z to select a tile, X to cancel your selection, and Enter (Start) to pause or access the menu.
Tips
- Always prioritize matching tiles that are stacked on top of others or blocking long rows to uncover more playable pieces.
- Look ahead before making a match; if there are multiple identical tiles available, choose the pair that frees up the most underlying tiles.
