About the Game
Seicross is a hybrid racing and side-scrolling shoot-’em-up released for the NES in 1988. In the game, you ride a sci-fi hover-bike through a continuous alien landscape, blasting enemy riders, avoiding environmental obstacles, and rescuing members of the Petras race from the evil Basrah empire. It seamlessly blends high-speed dodging with classic arcade shooting action.
How to Play
Your objective is to survive the treacherous terrain while collecting stranded Petras for points and destroying enemy vehicles. The controls use the standard NES mapping in your browser: move your hover-bike using the Arrow Keys, fire your weapon with Z, and adjust your speed or bump enemies with X. Press Enter to start.
Tips
- Manage your speed: The screen scrolls continuously, but you can control your relative speed. Slowing down gives you more reaction time to dodge terrain, while speeding up helps you ram enemy bikes from behind.
- Ramming is a weapon: You don’t always have to shoot. You can bump enemy riders into walls to destroy them, which is often safer than trying to line up a shot while navigating narrow passages.
- Watch your energy: Your bike consumes energy as you play. Be sure to pick up the energy batteries scattered throughout the track to avoid running out of power and losing a life.
