SD Gundam Gaiden: Knight Gundam Monogatari is a classic role-playing game released for the NES in 1990. Based on the popular SD Gundam Gaiden: Sieg Zeon Hen multimedia project, it takes the iconic mechas out of their usual sci-fi setting and places them into a medieval fantasy world. You play as Knight Gundam on an epic quest to defeat the evil Satan Gundam, engaging in traditional turn-based combat heavily inspired by early Dragon Quest titles.
How to Play
Navigate the overworld, explore towns, and battle enemies in turn-based combat to level up your party. Since this is an NES game, the controls are mapped to your keyboard: use the Arrow Keys to move, Z and X for the A and B buttons (to select or cancel actions), Enter for Start, and Shift for Select.
Tips
- Talk to everyone: Like most classic RPGs, NPCs in towns provide crucial hints on where to go next and how to progress the story.
- Keep your party healed: Magic points and healing items are limited early on, so do not venture too far from towns until you have gained a few levels.
