Route-16 Turbo is a 1985 maze and racing game developed by Sunsoft for the NES. An expanded version of the arcade original, it puts you behind the wheel of a car to navigate a city divided into 16 distinct blocks. You must collect all the money bags scattered across the mazes while dodging pursuing enemy vehicles.
How to Play
The game alternates between a radar view of the overall city and a zoomed-in maze view of each individual block. Use the Arrow keys to steer your car. In the browser’s standard NES mapping, press Z or X to activate your turbo boost for extra speed, and use Enter to start the game.
Tips
- Using your turbo boost consumes fuel much faster, so save it for when you need to make a quick escape from a pursuer.
- When on the radar screen, pay attention to the movement of enemy cars to avoid entering a block where you’ll be immediately cornered.
