Romancing SaGa 2 is a classic 1993 role-playing game developed by Square for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). Known for its highly ambitious and non-linear design, you take on the role of an unbroken line of Emperors of Avalon, spanning multiple generations. As you expand your empire and defend against the legendary Seven Heroes, your choices dictate the flow of the narrative, with each new emperor inheriting the skills and magic of their predecessors.

How to Play

The game features an open-world scenario progression and introduces the famous “Glimmer” (Spark) system, where characters learn new techniques dynamically in the middle of combat by having a lightbulb appear over their heads. As a SNES game, default controls map the D-pad to the arrow keys for movement, Z and X to the B and A buttons for selecting commands and interacting, and Enter for Start.

Tips

• Vary your attacks: Use standard attacks frequently rather than relying entirely on magic, as this is how you spark powerful new weapon techniques during battle.
