Game description:

Released for the NES in 1989, Romance of the Three Kingdoms is a deep grand strategy game developed by Koei. Based on the classic Chinese historical novel, players take on the role of a warlord during the Han Dynasty with the ultimate goal of unifying China through military conquest, careful diplomacy, and resource management.

As a warlord, you must balance governing your provinces, recruiting capable generals, and commanding your armies in turn-based tactical combat. The game is highly menu-driven and relies on standard NES controls mapped to your browser: use the Arrow keys to navigate the extensive menus and map, Z to confirm actions or selections, and X to cancel or go back. Press Enter for Start and Shift for Select.

Tips: Early in the game, focus on building your economy and securing a stable food supply before launching major military campaigns. Pay close attention to the loyalty of your generals, as dissatisfied officers can be easily recruited by rival warlords or turn against you in battle.
