Game description:

Roll-chan 6 is a sprite-swap ROM hack of Capcom’s Mega Man 6 (Rockman 6: Shijō Saidai no Tatakai, NES, 1993). It’s part of the “Roll-chan” hack series, which redraws each classic NES Mega Man game so you play as Roll, Mega Man’s sister, with his robot dog Rush reskinned as the cat companion Tango. Beyond the new look, the level design, bosses, and mechanics are untouched from the original Mega Man 6.

How to Play

Fight through eight Robot Master stages — Blizzard Man, Centaur Man, Flame Man, Knight Man, Plant Man, Tomahawk Man, Wind Man, and Yamato Man — taking each boss’s weapon after defeating them, then push on to Dr. Wily’s fortress. Tango can fuse into the Power Adapter or Jet Adapter, letting you smash certain blocks or fly across long gaps, though neither is available until later in the run.

Keyboard controls:

  • Arrow keys — move / climb ladders / aim
  • Z — B button (shoot)  |  X — A button (jump)
  • Enter — Start  |  Shift — Select

Tips

  • Every Robot Master has a weakness among the other seven weapons — scout a stage first if a boss is giving you trouble rather than trading hits with the default buster.
  • Hold the shoot button to charge a stronger buster shot; save your limited special-weapon ammo for the fights where it actually counts.
  • The Jet and Power Adapters open up shortcuts and secret items in earlier stages once unlocked — revisiting a level with one equipped can be worth it.
