🎮 Play Roll-chan Online (NES)

Roll-chan is a fan-made ROM hack of Capcom’s original 1987 Mega Man for the Nintendo Entertainment System, created by hacker Zynk Oxhyde and released in 2013. Rather than build a new game, it keeps Mega Man’s original level design, robot masters, and mechanics fully intact and reskins the playable character as his sister Roll, with new custom sprites and animations that earned the hack praise from the ROM hacking community. It plays exactly like the NES classic it’s based on: an action-platformer where you fight through six themed stages before storming Dr. Wily’s fortress.

How to Play

Choose one of the six Robot Masters — Bomb Man, Guts Man, Cut Man, Elec Man, Ice Man, and Fire Man — in any order and fight through their stage to claim their signature weapon, then use that weapon against the Robot Master it’s strong against to make the next fight easier. Once all six are defeated, take the fight to Dr. Wily’s fortress. In the browser, use the arrow keys for the D-pad, Z to jump (A button), X to fire your buster or equipped weapon (B button), Enter for Start, and Shift for Select to cycle weapons.

Tips

• The six Robot Masters form a complete weakness loop: Bomb Man falls to Fire Storm, Fire Man to Ice Slasher, Ice Man to Thunder Beam, Elec Man to Rolling Cutter, Cut Man to Super Arm, and Guts Man to Hyper Bomb — start anywhere and just follow the chain.
• Elec Man’s stage ends with a run of disintegrating blocks over a bottomless pit; move only the instant a block starts to crumble, don’t wait.
• Grab the Magnet Beam hidden in Elec Man’s stage before heading to Dr. Wily’s fortress — several of the later gaps are built around needing it to cross.
