Rockman 2018 New Year’s Hack is a boss-rush action platformer for the NES, created in 2018 by developer Puresabe to celebrate the Year of the Dog. In this festive twist on the classic formula, Dr. Wily has brainwashed Mega Man’s loyal robotic companion, Rush. Instead of navigating traditional stages, you must face off against several distinct and powerful forms of Rush, including an underwater submarine battle and an aerial fight.
How to Play
Your objective is to defeat the brainwashed forms of Rush in rapid succession. Use the arrow keys to move and aim, Z to jump (A button), and X to shoot (B button). Press Enter for Start and Shift for Select.
Tips
- As a boss-rush, preserving health is critical. Focus first on observing and memorizing Rush’s attack patterns in each form before playing aggressively.
- The underwater physics during the submarine fight change your mobility. Try to stay near the middle of the screen to give yourself maximum reaction time against projectiles.
