Step into the metallic boots of Detroit’s ultimate cyborg enforcer in RoboCop, a classic side-scrolling action platformer released for the NES in 1989. Adapted from the hit arcade game, this run-and-gun adventure tasks you with clearing the crime-ridden streets of Old Detroit. As Alex Murphy, you must battle through heavily armed thugs, navigate multi-level stages, and face off against iconic bosses like the formidable ED-209.
How to Play
Your objective is to reach the end of each stage while eliminating criminals and avoiding taking too much damage. RoboCop will automatically punch enemies when they are close, or draw his pistol to shoot them from a distance.
- Movement: Arrow Keys (D-pad to move, aim up, or crouch)
- Jump: X key (A button)
- Attack: Z key (B button to punch or shoot)
- Start/Select: Enter / Shift
Tips
- Advance cautiously: RoboCop moves slowly and is a large target. Walk forward deliberately so you don’t scroll too many enemies onto the screen at once.
- Position before firing: You cannot shoot your weapon while jumping. Always make sure your feet are planted before trying to return fire.
- Save your special ammo: While your standard pistol has infinite ammunition, powerful upgrades like the machine gun or Cobra Assault Cannon are strictly limited. Save them for boss encounters.
