Road Runner is a frantic arcade action game released by Atari in 1985 and brought to DOS. Based on the classic Looney Tunes cartoons, you play as the titular bird trying to stay one step ahead of a constantly pursuing Wile E. Coyote.
How to Play
You must continuously run forward, eating piles of birdseed scattered along the road to maintain your energy. If you miss too much birdseed, you will faint and lose a life. At the same time, you must dodge oncoming trucks, falling boulders, and landmines, all while Wile E. Coyote uses rockets, pogo sticks, and roller skates to try and catch you.
| Control: |
Game is controlled by the same keys that are used to playing under MS DOS. For fullscreen press ‘Right Alt’ + ‘Enter’. |
Tips
- Prioritize the birdseed: Missing too many piles of birdseed will cause you to stop and faint. Focus on eating them rather than just outrunning the Coyote.
- Bait your enemy: You can earn significant bonus points by safely luring Wile E. Coyote into oncoming traffic or hazards like landmines.
- Watch his gadgets: The Coyote’s movement speed and attack patterns change completely when he equips ACME gadgets like rockets or a pogo stick.
