RealSports Volleyball is a volleyball game published by Atari for the Atari 2600 in 1982, part of the RealSports series — Atari’s lineup of dedicated sports titles designed to bring more faithful rules and cleaner gameplay to the platform. Two teams compete across the net: serve, rally, and score when the ball lands in the opponent’s court.
How to play
You control one player on your side at a time. Use the joystick to move them into position under the ball, then press the trigger to hit. Keep the ball in play, drive it to open space on the other side, and avoid letting it drop on yours. The two-player mode — each player on their own set of controls — is where the game plays best; the live back-and-forth rewards timing and awareness in a way that CPU play does not.
