RealSports Boxing is a 1987 fighting game by Atari for the Atari 2600. Moving away from the overhead perspective of earlier boxing titles, it features large side-view sprites and a heavier focus on stamina and strategy. Matches last up to seven 45-second rounds, where you must balance quick jabs and powerful blows to secure a knockout or win by decision.
How to play
You can win by knockout or by scoring more points before the end of the seventh round. Hold the trigger button and press a direction to attack: press Forward for a quick jab, Down for a body blow, and Up for the slow but powerful “Payoff Punch.”

Tips
- Manage your energy: The Payoff Punch deals heavy damage but leaves you exhausted and vulnerable if overused. Rely on jabs and body blows to control the pace.
- Pace yourself: Matches last up to seven rounds. If you can’t land a knockout, you can still win by decision by outscoring your opponent with consistent, safe hits.
