🎮 Play Pooyan (Japan) Online (NES)

Originally a hit in the arcades, Konami’s classic fixed shooter arrived on the NES in 1985. You take on the role of Mama Pig, defending her captured piglets from packs of hungry wolves who descend from the canopy using balloons.

How to Play

Your goal is to shoot the balloons of the invading wolves before they can reach the ground or the cliff ledge (depending on the round). Mama Pig moves up and down in a gondola. In the browser, use the Arrow Keys (D-pad) to move the car vertically, and press Z or X (A/B buttons) to fire arrows.

Tips

• Save the Meat: Occasionally, a slab of meat appears at the top of the track. Collecting and throwing it causes it to arc downward. When wolves see the meat, they let go of their balloons to grab it, causing them to fall—this is highly effective for clearing large groups.
• Manage the Ladder: In the odd-numbered descending stages, any wolf that successfully lands will climb the ladder behind you and can bite you as you pass. Try to prioritize wolves closest to the ground.
• Fire Ahead: Because your arrows travel in a slight arc and the wolves are moving, you often need to aim slightly ahead of your target to land a successful shot.
