Police Quest: In Pursuit of the Death Angel is a graphic adventure game published by Sierra On-Line for DOS in 1987. Designed by former police officer Jim Walls, the game puts you in the role of Sonny Bonds, a patrolman in the fictional city of Lytton. Unlike typical adventure games of its era, Police Quest requires you to strictly follow authentic police procedures to solve cases and stay alive.
How to play
Navigate Sonny using the arrow keys and interact with the world by typing commands into the text parser, such as “look at desk” or “talk to dispatcher”. The core of the gameplay is adhering to police protocol: you must write tickets, make arrests, and secure evidence correctly or face a game over.

Game is controlled by the same keys that are used to playing under MS DOS. For fullscreen press ‘Right Alt’ + ‘Enter’. |
Tips
- Always conduct a safety inspection of your patrol car before getting in. If you don’t check the tires, you will suffer a fatal blowout while driving.
- Never forget to shower at the station and retrieve your radio from your locker before heading out on patrol.
- When pulling over a drunk driver or a felony suspect, always wait for backup to arrive and draw your weapon before approaching the vehicle.
