Game description:

Pinocchio (1996) is a platformer released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), based on the classic Disney animated film. Players guide both Pinocchio and his conscience, Jiminy Cricket, through various levels inspired by the movie’s storyline, from Stromboli’s puppet show to the belly of Monstro the whale. The game is known for its beautiful fluid animation and authentic recreation of the film’s atmosphere.

How to Play

The objective is to navigate platforming challenges, solve light puzzles with Jiminy, and make choices to help Pinocchio become a real boy. The default SNES controls in your browser map the D-pad to the arrow keys for movement. The A and B buttons are mapped to X and Z, controlling jumping and attacking (like spinning and kicking as Pinocchio), as well as interacting with objects. Use Enter for Start and Shift for Select.

Tips

  • Mastering the switch between playing as Pinocchio (for platforming and combat) and Jiminy Cricket (for reaching small areas and solving puzzles) is key to progressing through certain stages.
  • Timing is crucial during the escape from Monstro and the rollercoaster-like ride sections; carefully observe and memorize the obstacle patterns to survive.
