Perfect Soldiers (also known in the West as Superior Soldiers) is a 2D fighting game developed by Irem and released for arcades in 1993. Arriving during the fighting game boom of the early 90s, it marked Irem’s first step into the genre, a company better known for their legendary shoot-’em-ups like R-Type. The game features a roster of eight distinct characters, ranging from the protagonist Star Savior to eccentric mutant and sci-fi fighters, battling it out in fast-paced arcade action.
How to Play
The objective is standard for arcade fighters: deplete your opponent’s health bar to win a best-of-three match. The original cabinet utilized an 8-way joystick and a 6-button layout for varying strengths of punches and kicks. In the browser, directional movement is mapped to the arrow keys, with attacks mapped to the Z, X, C, A, S, and D keys. Press Shift to insert a coin and Enter to start the game.
