Developed by Compile and released for the Sega Master System in 1987, Parlour Games is a collection of three classic pub and parlour pastimes. Up to four players can compete in Billiards, Darts, or World Bingo against each other or computer-controlled opponents, offering a surprisingly robust digital recreation of these traditional social games.
How to play
Each of the three games has its own specific objectives. Billiards features Straight Pool, Five Ball, Nine Ball, and Rotation modes where you must pocket balls according to the specific ruleset. In Darts, you can adjust the weight of your darts and play variants like 301, 501, and Double Down to reduce your score exactly to zero. World Bingo is a straightforward game of luck where you attempt to complete lines on your card as numbers are drawn.
Controls: Use the arrow keys (D-pad) to aim or select options, and Z and X (Master System buttons 1 and 2) to shoot, throw, or confirm selections. Enter acts as Start.
Tips
- In Billiards, pay close attention to the spin you apply to the cue ball. A slight backspin or topspin is often the difference between a successful setup for your next shot and scratching.
- When playing Darts, take advantage of the adjustable dart weight before the match begins to find a throwing arc that feels comfortable and consistent for your timing.
