Paperboy 2, released for the SNES in 1991, builds on the classic isometric arcade formula by tasking you with delivering the daily news across a chaotic suburban neighborhood. Riding your bicycle through the streets, your goal is to land newspapers perfectly in the mailboxes or on the porches of your subscribers, while deliberately vandalizing the homes of non-subscribers. The sequel introduces houses on both sides of the street, forcing you to look both ways as you dodge an escalating array of hazards like runaway tires, aggressive dogs, ghosts, and gargoyles.
How to Play
Your objective is to survive the entire week by maintaining your subscriber base and completing your daily route. Use the Arrow Keys to steer your bike, speed up, or brake. Press the action keys (Z, X, A, or S) to toss papers to the left or right sides of the street. Press Enter to start the game or pause.
Tips
- Aim for the mailboxes of your subscribers when possible, as landing a paper inside awards more points than a standard porch delivery.
- Keep an eye on your paper supply at the bottom of the screen. If you run low, steer into the newspaper bundles scattered along the road to restock.
- Break the windows of non-subscribers for bonus points, but do not accidentally vandalize a subscriber’s house, or they will cancel their subscription the next day.
