Palamedes 2 – Star Twinkles is a fast-paced puzzle game released exclusively for the Famicom (NES) in Japan in 1991 by Hot-B. As the sequel to the original Palamedes, it shifts the perspective and ramps up the competitive speed, challenging players to manage a rising tower of dice.
How to Play
Your objective is to prevent the pile of dice from reaching the top of the screen. Your character stands on top of the stack of dice, and you must throw your own dice into the pile to match numbers or create sequences. Connecting identical numbers or sequential runs clears them from the board. In the browser emulator, use the Arrow Keys to move and navigate, Z / X for the A and B buttons to throw or change dice, Enter for Start, and Shift for Select.
Tips for Success
- Watch for Sequences: Don’t just look for matching pairs. A run of sequential numbers (like 1-2-3-4) is often a faster way to clear large chunks of the screen.
- Play Aggressively: Palamedes 2 is notably faster than its predecessor. Keep throwing and matching continuously, as the pile grows very quickly and hesitating will easily result in being crushed.
