Originally released via Nintendo’s Famicom Disk System kiosks, Pac-Man (Japan) (Disk Writer) brings the timeless arcade maze action to the NES platform. You guide the iconic yellow hero through a labyrinth, aiming to clear every single dot on the board while being relentlessly pursued by four distinct ghosts.
How to Play
The objective is to eat all the dots in the maze to advance to the next stage while avoiding the ghosts. Eating one of the four flashing Power Pellets temporarily turns the ghosts blue and vulnerable, allowing you to eat them for bonus points. Navigate the maze using the D-pad (mapped to the arrow keys on your keyboard), and press Start (Enter) to begin.
Tips
- Know your enemies: Each ghost behaves differently. Blinky (red) directly chases you, Pinky (pink) aims in front of your path to ambush, Inky (cyan) uses a flanking strategy based on Blinky’s position, and Clyde (orange) retreats to his corner when he gets too close.
- Use the side tunnels: The tunnels on the left and right wrap around the screen. Ghosts move noticeably slower through these tunnels than Pac-Man does, making them ideal for quick escapes.
