Game description:

Nuclear Strike 64 is an isometric, multi-directional shooter released for the Nintendo 64 in 1999. As the final entry in the classic Strike series, the game puts you in command of an Apache helicopter and various other vehicles as you undertake tactical military missions to stop a rogue warlord. Balancing action with resource management, players must navigate vast battlefields, destroy enemy targets, and complete complex objectives.

How to Play

Your primary objective is to complete a series of mission directives across large open maps, ranging from destroying enemy installations to rescuing hostages. In the browser emulator, use the Arrow Keys to pilot your helicopter (mapping to the N64 analog stick). Use X (A button) and Z (B button) alongside C (Z trigger) to cycle and fire your chain gun, Hydra rockets, and Hellfire missiles. Enter acts as Start to view the map and mission objectives.

Tactical Tips

  • Manage your resources: Your helicopter has limited fuel, armor, and ammunition. Always keep an eye on the map to locate supply crates and winch them up before you run empty.
  • Use the right weapon: Save your powerful Hellfire missiles for heavily armored targets like tanks and bunkers. Use the chain gun for infantry and light vehicles to conserve heavy ammo.
  • Rescue MIAs: Picking up missing-in-action soldiers and returning them to landing zones will replenish your armor, which is crucial for surviving longer missions.
