Game description:

NHL 96 is a classic ice hockey game developed by Electronic Arts for the SNES in 1995. Building upon the beloved 16-bit hockey engine of its predecessors, it brings updated rosters, smoother skating mechanics, and signature moves to the virtual ice.

How to play

Take your chosen team through exhibition matches or a full season with the goal of winning the Stanley Cup. You handle passing, shooting, and skating on offense, while managing player switching, poke checks, and heavy body checks on defense.

Tips

  • Master the one-timer: Passing the puck and immediately hitting the shoot button before your teammate receives it is one of the most reliable ways to beat the goalie.
  • Use the spin-o-rama: This evasive move is excellent for dodging oncoming defenders and creating open shooting lanes in the offensive zone.
