Game description:

NBA in the Zone 2000 brings fast-paced basketball action to the Nintendo 64. Released by Konami in 2000, this sports title features updated rosters for the 1999-2000 NBA season and focuses on accessible gameplay rather than heavy simulation. With its solid graphical style and signature moves, it captures the energy of the court in a format that is easy to pick up and play directly in your browser.

How to Play

The objective is to outscore your opponent through a combination of slick passes, powerful dunks, and accurate jump shots. On the Nintendo 64, you control your team using the D-pad or analog stick for movement, the A button to pass or switch players on defense, and the B button to shoot or block. In the browser, these are mapped to standard emulator controls: use the arrow keys to move, Z and X for your primary actions, and Enter to pause the game.

Tips

  • Master the timing of your jump shots; releasing the ball at the exact apex of your player’s jump significantly increases your accuracy.
  • Use turbo bursts strategically to blow past defenders for an open lane to the basket, or to chase down fast breaks on defense.
  • Keep the ball moving. Quick passing around the perimeter is the most effective way to pull the defense out of position and create open scoring opportunities.
