My Hero is a classic side-scrolling beat ’em up released for the Sega Master System in 1986. Originally an arcade title, the game tasks you with rescuing your girlfriend, Remy, from a street gang led by a mohawked boss. You’ll punch and jump-kick your way through three distinct, looping environmentsโa city street, a ninja-filled forest, and a bizarre alien landscapeโtaking on relentless waves of enemies that run at you from all sides.
How to Play
Your goal is to survive the onslaught until you reach the boss at the end of each level, dodging hazards and defeating him to proceed. A single hit will cost you a life, so you must constantly stay on the move. Keep an eye out for captive hostages along the way; freeing them will reward you with an extra life.
Browser Controls:
- Arrow Keys: Move and crouch
- Z: Attack
- X: Jump
- Enter / Shift: Start / Select
Tips
- The jump kick is your most reliable move, giving you better range and allowing you to close the distance quickly against fast-moving enemies.
- Thugs often spawn from both sides of the screen simultaneously. Do not let yourself get boxed in; immediately clear one side so you have room to maneuver.
- Glass bottles occasionally appear on the ground. Pick them up to use them as a projectile for a safe ranged attack.
