Mottomo Abunai Deka is a side-scrolling action game released for the NES in 1990. Developed by Micronics and published by Toei Animation, it is based on the popular Japanese television detective drama Abunai Deka. Players take control of detectives Taka and Yuuji as they battle through the streets to dismantle the “Silver Stars” criminal syndicate and uncover corruption within the police force.
How to Play
Your objective is to fight your way to the end of each stage, relying primarily on your handgun to dispatch enemies. The game occasionally shifts away from standard platforming to feature mini-games, including high-speed car chases and shooting gallery segments. For standard play on a keyboard, use the Arrow Keys to move your detective, press Z to shoot your weapon or attack, and press X to jump. Use Enter to start the game.
Tips
- Ammo is limited for the powerful secondary weapons you find, like the machine gun and grenades, so save them for tougher encounters or bosses.
- Character movement can be slightly sluggish, making positioning critical; avoid rushing blindly into groups of enemies.
