Released by Konami for the NES in 1992, Monster in My Pocket is a side-scrolling action platformer that shrinks you down to miniature size. Playing as either the Vampire or Frankenstein’s Monster, you must battle through everyday environments like a living room and kitchen that appear massive from your perspective. Along the way, you fight off rival mythological and folkloric creatures from the eponymous toy line.
How to Play
The objective is to fight your way through each stage and defeat the boss waiting at the end. You can attack enemies up close or perform a double jump to reach higher areas and avoid hazards.
- Move: Arrow keys
- Jump / Double Jump: X (A button)
- Attack: Z (B button)
- Start: Enter
- Select: Shift
Tips
- Both the Vampire and the Monster have identical abilities and hitboxes, so you can pick your character based purely on which one you prefer.
- Master the timing of your double jump early on. It is crucial not only for crossing wide gaps but also for dodging sweeping boss attacks.
