Game description:

Micro Machines is a top-down miniature racing game developed by Codemasters Software for the SNES in 1991. Instead of traditional tracks, players steer tiny toy vehicles across oversized household environments, dodging cereal boxes on breakfast tables and navigating sandcastles in the backyard. Its fast-paced, zoomed-in perspective requires quick reflexes as you race against opponents in everything from sports cars to helicopters.

How to play

The objective in the single-player mode is to complete laps and finish ahead of the pack, while multiplayer races focus on staying on the screen to score points while your opponent falls behind.

Tips

  • Adapting to the unique physics of each vehicle is crucial, as a heavy tank controls very differently from a lightweight sports car or speed boat.
  • Because of the tight camera angle, memorizing the layout of hazards on each track is essential for anticipating sharp turns.
  • In head-to-head races, you can gently nudge opponents into obstacles or off table edges to gain a quick advantage.
